The Approach Community Ski and Ride at Snowbird
Timeline:
8:00 AM – Check-in at Subaru Basecamp
9:00 AM – Meet & Greet with Approach athletes and safety briefing
9:30 AM – Time on the mountain with Approach athletes (divided into smaller group clinics)
12:00 PM – Lunch & Film Screening
1:00 PM – Q&A with Athletes and Director
2:00 PM – Free Time on the Mountain with Approach Athletes
4:00 PM – Closing Remarks at Subaru Basecamp

Lessons
A lesson will be offered for first-time skiers and snowboarders at the Snowbird Mountain School.

Clinics
Each Approach athlete will lead dedicated small-group clinics around the mountain, exploring various runs and sharing their expertise. Clinics include:
1. Ski and Snowboard Filming with Anne Cleary
- “Learning tips and tricks for using cameras outdoors in winter weather. A space where experienced and new filmers and photographers can connect on-slope.” - Anne
- All riders are welcome!
- Skill level adapts to the group's ability level but the primary focus will be riding around the whole mountain and prioritizing camera skills.
2. Steep and Technical Riding with Sophia Rouches
- “Hard charge and get laps in one more technical terrain.” - Sophia
- All riders are welcome!
- Skill level adapts to the group's ability level with a focus on advanced and expert riders who want to take it to the next level. (See level chart above)
3. Leisure Athletes with Brooklyn Bell
- “Having fun riding the whole mountain. Maybe hitting some side hits. Black runs at a casual easy-going pace.” - Brooklyn.
- All riders are welcome!
- Skill level adapts to the group's ability level with a focus on intermediate and advanced riders who want to take it to the next level. (See level chart above)
4. Groomer Ripping with Anna Soens
- “Stay in bounds and on groomers while we occasionally jump into the bumps or trees!” - Anna
- All riders are welcome but the primary focus is on adaptive riders.
- Skill level adapts to the group's ability level with a focus on intermediate riders who want to stay on groomed terrain. (See level chart above)
5. All Mountain Riding and FUNdementals with Emilé Zynobia
- “Learn how to charge and be in charge. Navigating different terrains and line choices.” - Emilé
- All riders are welcome but the primary focus is on snowboarding.
- Skill level adapts to the group's ability level with a focus on novice and intermediate riders who want to take it to the next level. (See level chart above)
6. Blue Baddies with Vasu Sojitra (Lower mountain cruising)
- “An easygoing group where we will ride green circles and blue squares on the lower mountain. We’ll slowly push ourselves throughout the day and wait for folks that are working on trying harder terrain.” - Vasu

- Skill level adapts to the group's ability level with a focus on beginner and novice riders who want to get their leg(s) under them for the start of ski season. (See level chat above)
7. Ski School Lessons with Ingrid Backstrom and Snowbird Ski School
- “This clinic will be about familiarizing ourselves with gear and basic mountain procedures, getting warmed up and learning some mountain basics of skiing and riding for beginners and newer riders, or anyone who just wants to start slow or take it easy!” - Ingrid
